- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, organize, direct, control and coordinate the successful execution and completion of engineering and land planning projects.
- Completion of assigned projects within established schedules, and budgets.
- Maintain the project budget and project schedule through the design and approval process.
- Coordination with Director of Engineering, and Principals to ensure that adequate staffing is applied to the project to meet goals.
- Coordinate with the Project Engineer / Project Designer to ensure required information and answers to questions are provided in a concise and timely manner.
- Develop detailed proposals and budgets for new engineering and land planning projects.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with new and existing clients, and with other consultants for teaming relationships.
- Prepare monthly invoices to the client and manage project budgets and collections.
- Participate and provide leadership role in the employee review process.
- Provide QA and QC oversights of plan preparation.
- Make important decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex matters.
- Sound judgement and initiative in the interpretation and in the planning and execution on project.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8 years experience in land development and/or public works design with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role in directing design projects.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering and Registration is required.
- Must have basic AutoCAD skills, familiarity with Civil 3D is a plus.

- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and production of Street, Sewer, Water and Storm Drain Improvement Plans.
- Design and production of Rough and Precise Grading Plans
- Assist in the design and preparation of Tentative Maps, Exhibits, and other Documents.
- Review and Address internal and agency comments and incorporate into project drawings.
- Active interaction with Project Engineer, Project Manager and other members of the design team.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years experience in residential land development design.
- Must be highly skilled in AutoCAD, proficiency in Civil 3D a plus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and agency staff both orally and in writing.
- Must be highly organized and motivated and able to work within a Team framework.
- Public Works experience a plus.
- E.I.T. Preferred but not required.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with the Drainage Manager and Director of Engineering to manage, schedule and complete design tasks within project budgets and schedules.
- Produce preliminary and final drainage design studies, plans and reports which are compatible with the grading, street, sewer and water plans.
- Lead the design and production of final Storm Drain Improvement Plans.
- Produce Hydraulic Calculations and prepare complete Drainage Reports.
- Review project and recommend Water Quality BMP’s, evaluate location, type and size of BMPs and prepare complete PWQMP and FWQMP Reports.
- Review and incorporate Condition of Approvals into project design.
- Review drainage design and reports with the Drainage Manager prior to each agency submittal for completeness, format and accuracy.
- Produce final design documents for drainage, grading, sewer, water in compliance with agency and company standard procedures and policies.

- Coordinate with the Project Engineer and Project Designer to execute and complete CADD tasks within project budgets and schedules.
- Review and follow project specifications, industry standards and state/local codes prior to preparation of plans.
- Review and follow CADD, design, productivity and engineering standards for each project.
- Assists and informs the Project Engineer of any resource needs to meet project requirements.
- Produce preliminary drafting of the grading, erosion control, drainage, street, sewer and water plans.
- Produce final design documents for grading, erosion control, storm drain, street, sewer and water plans in compliance with agency and company standard procedures and policies.
- Review and address agency comments and incorporate into project design.
- Participate in Internal Team Meetings and any training classes provided by the company.
- Monitor all work for compliance with relevant design standards, policies, and codes.
- Actively facilitate internal communication with Design Team and Project Engineer.
- Adhere to K&A CAD standards and policies.

Position Requirements:
- K&A Engineering, Inc. (K&A) has an opportunity for a skilled mapping technician with a minimum of 1 year experience, skilled in AutoCAD, proficiency in Civil 3D a plus, to provide the following tasks under the direction of a Land Surveyor:
- Experienced with record map/document research within Riverside County.
- Experienced with reviewing/reading title reports.
- Experienced with calculating and analyzing record maps, deeds and easements.
- Familiar with creating (typically within Riverside County) final tract/parcel maps, legal descriptions and plats (easements, deeds, certificate of compliances, lot line adjustments, right of way dedications, documents), record of surveys, land title surveys (A.L.T.A./A.C.S.M.), topographic survey mapping, and as-built exhibits utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads, directs, and performs the work of field survey crew in the performance of boundary, topographic and construction surveying. Performs related research, plan reviews, and calculations..
- Mentors and trains less experienced Survey Technicians.
- Analyzes conflicts in construction drawings and design plans.
- Prepares cut sheets and sketches for field surveys.
- Performs calculations to determine grades and locations of improvements on construction plans.
- Reads and interprets field survey notes, legal descriptions, parcel and tract maps, records of survey, and construction plans.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of robotic and GPS survey equipment.
- Familiar with surveying principles and theory, field methods, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional and courteous manner.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years general field surveying experience that includes 1-2 years serving as survey party chief for performing boundary, topographic and construction surveys.
- Competent in surveying principles and theory, field surveying methods and procedures, and error checking.
- Familiarity with geometric and trigonometry principles.
- Strong working knowledge and experience setting up, operating and maintaining robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- California Driver’s license, proof of valid auto insurance and a clean driving record. Note: This will be verified.
- DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Land Surveyor in Training Certificate (LSIT).
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or related field.
- Completed courses in geometry and trigonometry.
Position Requirements:
- K&A Engineering, Inc. has an opportunity for a skilled chainman with a minimum of 1 year experience in the following aspects of surveying, including but not limited to:
- Act as an assistant to a survey crew chief while performing construction staking surveys, topographic survey, and ALTA surveys throughout Southern California
